Abstract: DNA methylation is recognized as a promising biomarker for early cancer detection. This report first outlines the relationship between DNA methylation and carcinogenesis. It then reviews applications of DNA methylation biomarkers, highlighting four key advantages. Finally, we introduce our team's research on DNA methylation biomarkers. We developed and validated peripheral blood mononuclear cell methylation models for detecting colorectal, breast, lung, and gastric cancers, demonstrating the potential for novel approaches in early cancer detection.
