Detection of Syphilis Infection in Pregnant Women for the Prevention of Neonatal Syphilis Transmission

Overview

Anbio's Syphilis Detection System presents a point-of-care (POC) solution targeting syphilis detection in expectant mothers, aiming to assess treatment efficacy and prevent neonatal transmission. The Electrochemical i-t and IMPT RPR Test exhibit capability in detecting CLA presence, necessitating further experimentation for thorough validation. Key consideration encompass the Electrochemical RPR Test's reliance on a sample impedance baseline for negative quality control, demanding consistent electrode performance. Challenges may arise in obtaining positive samples for assay validation. Subsequent actions entail IMPT testing utilizing the labeled antigen electrode. To address the reduced demand in testing, leading labs are expanding their offerings to generate new revenues to replace COVID-19 testing and to make use of the increased testing capabilities and idle equipment acquired during the pandemic.
