Below you can find answers to frequently asked questions about submitting a poster abstract and presenting a poster at the ADLM 2024 (Formerly AACC Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo).
What is the submission deadline?
The deadline for poster abstract submissions is in February. See the timeline for more details.
Can non-members submit a proposal?
Yes. ADLM membership is not required to submit a proposal or present a poster. We hope you consider joining ADLM regardless!
Can I submit more than one proposal?
Yes. Multiple proposal submissions are welcome, as long as they do not have similar content. However, individuals may only present up to 5 posters. New in 2024.
What are some examples of multiple abstracts with similar content?
Can I submit an abstract on behalf of someone else?
No, submitters must be the presenter and will be listed as the first author. New in 2024.
Can I edit my poster abstract once it is submitted?
Yes, the submitter can edit their poster abstract at any point up until the deadline. Please note that if you make changes that cause the submission to no longer be complete, it will not be considered. Contact ADLM at [email protected] with questions.
How will I receive confirmation?
Confirmation, including your abstract number, is provided as the last step of the online submission process. You will also receive an automatic confirmation email. If you like, you can have the message sent to co-authors or others of your choosing. Instructions are found on the confirmation page.
How will you contact the authors whose names are included in the poster abstract submission?
All correspondence will be directed to the submitter/presenting author via email, including disposition information, scheduling information, and poster preparation guidelines. Co-authors do not receive any correspondence about the abstract or poster.
How and when will I be notified if my poster abstract is accepted or declined?
Notifications of abstract disposition are scheduled to be sent to presenting authors in April. See the timeline for more details.
May I present multiple posters?
Yes, presenting authors may present up to 5 posters at the meeting. If you have more than 5 accepted abstracts, you must choose which ones you want to present as a poster. You may also request that one of the co-authors be listed as the presenter. They will then be responsible for registering and presenting the poster at the meeting. New in 2024.
If accepted, what is the poster size limit?
The allotted area for each accepted poster is 46 x 46 inches (~116 x 116 cm). Additional information regarding poster and ePoster preparation will be available closer to the meeting date.
If accepted, when do I have to present my poster?
Can I present my poster online only?
No, all posters must be presented in person at the meeting. You are required to also provide an electronic version of your poster for viewing online. However, this is in addition to presenting the poster in person.
Do I have to include my abstract on my poster?
No, your abstract is not required to be included on your poster. However, you must provide additional information from what was submitted in your abstract. Your poster may not be identical to your accepted abstract.
Is registration required?
Yes, presenting authors must register with an eligible in-person registration type and pay the required registration fees to present a poster at the meeting. Eligible registration types are All Access or the Daily Conference registration for the day of your presentation. You may not present a poster with an Expo Only or Exhibitor badge.
